The Warrior's Lord

My Lord is real

…… as real as the combat

My wound is real

…… as real as the scar in His side

My soul is on fire

…… as hot at the fires of hell

My memories are real

…… as real as all those that died

Help me Lord to have faith

…… faith in you through all of the time I have left

You are the source of what strength I have left

…… always there as were my men in combat

I must travel this lonely road alone

…… or must I?

I still have you as well as many friends

…… I look forward to seeing you and those many that died

A simple verse, a statement of fact, a feeling of peace

…… no more ashamed of the past

You have given me peace to replace health

…… I’m not sure I would trade back
