WHAT BETTER WAY
What better way is there for a man to die,
For life must end; that we can’t deny;
Than on the field of battle for a friend,
Who fights beside you to the very end?
What nobler cause could there be than this,
You spilling blood as he is spilling his,
What finer deed could man in life desire,
Than to lose his life for his son and sire,
Defending to the end his comrade's life,
While all around the horror vile and rife,
Fails to quell the resilience of the free,
Who die for all the love that lives in
thee…
And those who live grow old with their
pain,
Seeing their nation thriving from its gain.
