William Rewritten

There I was upon the stage

The limelights turned up high.

Out in front for all to see

Delivering my soliloquy.

With Yorik's skull clutched in my hand

I bade him fond farewell

And with the lights on me alone

I knelt upon the stage to moan.

And when the play had ended

I took my curtain call.

Then wakened with esteem---

To sleep, perchance to dream
