With winter fast approaching here in Pennsylvania, I begin to think of the long months indoors. It is the hardest part of the year for me, to be bottled up with no open windows or doors. I sometimes get very discontented. Watching the birds and the snow is sometimes a pleasant view in the midst of the bleakness of winter. I found a poem I wrote last year, after having taken a walk to a small park near me, where I took this picture. It reminded me that there is enjoyment in everything and in every season on God's magnificent Earth.
WINTER'S SPLENDOR
I stand in awe and dreamy silence in the peaceful stillness of the storm Snowflakes drift from infinity, the Earth no longer appears forlorn
The world transformed from yesterday, now glistening with brightest white Black branches now clothed with snow, no longer appear the color of night
Seemingly knowing their elegance, the evergreens bow towards the ground All the earth seems to pause in wonder, even the animals cannot be found
In winter's grandest splendor I no longer wish for spring... But rather find contentment in the beauty this season brings.
