Ya, We Know
Hey we all know the feeling, When our minds start a-reeling When the dark clouds start to roll, Horrors of the war done took its toll Don’t matter if we’re asleep or awake, We can’t escape that lonely headache Never having a chance to undo what’s been done, The Lord took us all one by one
All the wrongs we seen happening, Left our lives twisted and collapsing Now we carry the remains of our past, Till we die it’s going to last Closing our eyes don’t help a thing, Tears that hide still burn and sting Hands on our ears don’t stop the screams, Of the roaring in all our shattered dreams
No bringing back the brothers we all lost, No reason good enough to justify the cost Their kinfolks can’t make sense of it all, Why the Lord didn’t choose us when he made the call He just went and took our very best, Made us lay them all down for a final rest We’ve been left here to do a job, Making sure their memories are never robbed.
